Terms and Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all cakes supplied by Cakes By Shafina, including wedding cakes and celebration cakes. By paying a deposit and/or signing an order form, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
Booking Process
1.1 All bookings are confirmed only once the required booking fee/deposit has been paid and the order form has been completed and accepted.
1.2 Cake designs are discussed via email, phone, or consultation. Inspiration images may be provided, however Cakes By Shafina creates original designs and exact replicas cannot be guaranteed.
1.3 Any design sketches provided are for guidance only and may be subject to an additional charge.
1.4 It is the client’s responsibility to provide accurate information at the time of booking, including event date, venue, delivery/collection details, allergies, dietary requirements, spellings, and contact details.
Deposits
2.1 Wedding Cakes: A 50% non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your date.
2.2 Celebration Cakes: Full payment is required at the time of booking.
2.3 Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
2.4 Dates cannot be held without receipt of the full payment/deposit. If payment is not received within the stated timeframe, the date may be released.
Payment Schedule
3.1 The final balance is due no later than 28 days before the event date. This date will be clearly stated on your order form.
3.2 Failure to pay the final balance by the due date may result in cancellation of the order, with the booking fee/deposit forfeited.
3.3 Final payments made are non-refundable.
3.4 Payment by instalments may be accepted at the discretion of Cakes By Shafina; however, the full balance must still be paid by the final payment due date.
Changes & Amendments
4.1 Changes to flavours, designs, sizes, or decorations must be requested no later than 28 days before the event.
4.2 Changes requested after this point cannot be guaranteed and may incur additional charges.
4.3 Personalised items such as toppers, charms, fresh flowers, or dated decorations are not amendable once ordered.
Cancellations by the Client
5.1 The deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances, including event cancellation, postponement, or personal circumstances.
5.2 Cancellations made more than 28 days before the event will forfeit the deposit.
5.3 Cancellations made within 28 days of the event require full payment of the remaining balance, whether or not the cake has been completed.
5.4 If the cake has already been partially or fully completed, all costs incurred up to that point remain payable.
Postponements & Date Changes
6.1 Requests to change the event date are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Any request to change the event date must be to a new date that falls within 6 months of the date the postponement or cancellation is requested.
6.2 Additional costs may apply due to changes in material prices or redesign requirements.
6.3 Perishable or dated items already purchased will need to be repurchased at the client’s expense.
Completion of Orders
7.1 Once an order has been fully completed, it is non-refundable.
Collection & Delivery
8.1 Collection and delivery arrangements will be confirmed in advance.
8.2 Responsibility for the cake passes to the client once the cake has been collected or set up at the venue.
8.3 Cakes By Shafina cannot be held responsible for damage occurring after collection or delivery.
8.4 It is the client’s responsibility to ensure a suitable table, environment, and temperature (18°C or below).
Non-Edible Elements
9.1 Cakes may contain non-edible elements such as dowels, wires, flowers, or toppers.
9.2 The client is responsible for ensuring these elements are removed before serving.
Allergens & Dietary Requirements
10.1 Cakes are made in an environment that handles allergens including milk, eggs, gluten, nuts, and soy.
10.2 While care is taken, Cakes By Shafina cannot guarantee the absence of trace allergens.
10.3 Clients are responsible for informing guests of allergen risks.
Photography & Promotion
11.1 Cakes By Shafina reserves the right to photograph completed cakes and use images for marketing, website, and social media purposes.
Cancellations by Cakes By Shafina
12.1 In the unlikely event that Cakes By Shafina must cancel due to exceptional circumstances, a full refund of all monies paid will be issued.
Complaints
13.1 Any issues must be reported within 48 hours of delivery or collection.
13.2 Complaints will only be addressed with the person named on the order form.
Force Majeure
14.1 Cakes By Shafina shall not be liable for failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, accidents, or acts of God.
Acceptance of Terms
15.1 Payment of a booking fee/deposit and/or signing the order form constitutes full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
Acknowledgement of Terms
Once you have received these terms and conditions, please reply by email to confirm that you have read and accepted them, and whether you would like to proceed with your booking.
